Al Gore Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

Gore’s time and dedication to address the threat of global warming and climate change was recognized in Oslo, Norway today as he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

“A prerequisite for winning the Nobel Peace Prize is making a difference, and Al Gore has made a difference,” mentioned Boerge Brende, the former minister of environment.

The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize is typically announced in mid-October, with the award presented a few months later in December.

Do you think Al will win?

    Yes, he will win.

Even if he doesn’t win the Nobel, he can now go into the primaries in 2008 with the Nobel nomination in his pocket and very little negative baggage. Compare that to you-know-who.

    Gore/Obama would be unbeatable.

    Run Al, Run!

    PS - I’m a Republican!

I looked for a website for Al Gore’s 2008 Candidacy because I was so excited when I heard. I first got interested in Bill Clinton as a Presidential Candidate when he announced Gore was his pick for V.P.. I was immensely pleased with that Presidency and quite remorseful when Gore was defeated in his run against Dubbya. I predicted before Dean’s meltdown that we needed to focus on Kerry was the best candidate. I think Gore is our man in this race! Go team!

Today’s nomination of Mr. Gore for the Nobel Peace Prize gives him, if possible, an even higher profile. Mr. Gore is right not to announce his candidacy for president, but I believe he would graciously agree to run if drafted by popular demand. His gravitas and senior statesman status regarding the issue of climate change, combined with Senator Barack Obama’s intelligence, style, and enthusiasm are a winning ticket.

Most people remember that Hillary Clinton voted for invasion of Iraq, and that she has not said, as did Edwards, that it was the biggest mistake of her political life. Both Gore and Obama were publicly on the right side of this issue all along, and so are not floundering to explain a misguided vote.

Here is a Gorbama bumper sticker from me to you. (Email me and I’ll send it).

    Sincerely,

I hope that he runs. I want him to choose a good VP like Bayh or Vilsack. Edwards and Obama are too hyped up and lack experience and substance. Gore should go with what’s right instead of what’s popular.

I watch these websites every day to see if anything has changed yet on a possible announcement. I am so hoping Al Gore runs for President. I am not set on any candidate yet. I am just waiting….

A Plan: since this thing called a plan is holding us up from working on our seriously impacted environment, then I offer this one.

    1) Take the 20000 new troops and close every inch of the borders that are not either Iran, or other cooperative players in the zone.

    2) Tell Iran that is free to help Iraq recover.

    3) Negotiate, AID, from multiple players to necessitate rebuilding the geographic area.

    4) Agree to stop all aggressive indeever’s within the geographic area except to barricade the importation of all international arms shipments. Build an international coalition to assure that it is done.

    5) Hold out this carrot to Iran, with the understanding that this is the best last chance to establish a social and political superpower in the area. Everything is on the table if we agree that the plan is to develop another global partner, not an enemy, or competitor.

    6) Now!!!???!!!. Lets get down to establishing a global partnership to deal with the only serious threat, which we all face equally, the environment.

This is a plan, a simple, effective, doable plan. Take it use it I do not care, just understand that its ability to succeed is in its combination of multiplicity and simplicity.
