I just read an article about Al Gore and his own personal consumption of energy. I think Mr. Gore should be looking in his own backyard because according to the article the average household uses 10,656 kilowatt hours per year while Mr. Gore used up 221,000 kWh - more than 20 times the national average.
I have seen pictures of Mr. Gore’s humble abode and maybe it’s time he practiced what he’s been preaching. Time to downsize Al.
Time to wake up America and see what a political opportunist this man really is.

There is an email flying around the net that I would like someone to please disprove!
text follows:
Subject: A Tale of Two Houses- -
House #1 A 20 room mansion ( not including 8 bathrooms ) heated by
natural gas. Add on a pool ( and a pool house) and a separate guest
house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more
energy than the average American household does in a year. The
average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400. In
natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the
national average for an American home. This house is not situated
in a Northern or Midwestern “snow belt” area. It’s in the South.
House #2 Designed by an architecture professor at a
leading national university. This house incorporates every
“green” feature current home construction can provide. The house is
4,000 square feet ( 4 bedrooms ) and is nestled on a high prairie in the
American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal
heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the
ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F. ) heats the house in the winter
and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or
natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a
conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected
and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from
showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then
into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land
surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area
enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.
~~~~~
HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville, Tennessee; it is the abode of
the “environmentalist” Al Gore.
HOUSE #2 is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas; it is the residence the of
the President of the United States, George W. Bush.
An “inconvenient truth”.
I just received an email regarding Al Gore’s home versus George Bush’s home in regards to energy savings. According to snopes.com, this is true. Rather disappointing in that case. I have never been a George Bush fan, but if he’s on top of the energy thing more power to him. How can you take a stance on global warming and live in such an energy hog?
Mr. Gore,
I know what it is like to promote Going Green and the ridicule that goes with it. I am being sued, because of it. I am sure you have seem me on TV or Newspapers about my issue. People have the right to the resource on ones property and the right to build a wind turbine in ones backyard. This is a national issue and policy in this area is sorely needed. It is only a few people that object to this, yet policitians think that it is a majority, which it is not.
They are called NIMBY’s and I am a SIMBY. SIMBY stands for “STARTS IN MY BACK YARD” KEEP THE EFFORT GOING ON, GOBAL WARMING. MIKE MERCURIO PS I attend the signing of the NJ Global Warming Response Act and help to get it thru.
Dear Mr. Gore
I see you tv and I can not believe that you preach to me about my energy consumption and you use 20x more in one month than I do in a whole year. Then you tell me you would like to tax me even more for my suv and you jet around in a plane that pollutes more than Exxon. I believe that before you criticize me work on yourself………
Global No Drive Day stops 10.8 billion Co2 in one Day!
I am a Dutchman living in the United Kingdom, and spearheading a campaign to declare Sunday October 28th as the planet’s first “Global No Drive Day!”
I am so determined to ensure that the movement gathers momentum I am persuadeing millions to leave their car at home every last Sunday in the month.
“There are 600 million cars on the Planet today – if we all left them at home for just a day, we’d stop 10.8 billion of carbon dioxide being emitted in just one day*. What we can all achieve by collaborating in this way would be amazingly powerful!”
“’Global No Drive Day!’ is something that everyone can support now - without having to wait for the government to take a lead. And let’s face it, the government couldn’t afford to come up with an idea like this – it’d cost too much in lost taxes.”
“But it’s up to us as individuals to take action. Like many people, I’m really concerned about the future of the planet – and like many more people, I’ve sometimes wondered whether what l can do personally will actually make any real difference.”
“But then – ironically enough, when I was driving home one evening – it suddenly dawned on me that we could all make a spectacular difference if we collaborated and chose not to use ours cars on a specific day.”
I am a realist at heart and I know that I am aiming impossibly high – and that the chances of everyone choosing to opt for public transport on a single day each month are pretty slim.
I am however, hopeful that the “Global No Drive Day!” campaign will raise awareness – and more importantly encourage others to recognise that each of us as individuals is responsible for the future of the planet. It HAS been done before – in the 70s during the oil crisis, when governments did all they could to keep cars off the road to preserve oil.
Butch
John the farmer was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called “pullets”, and ten roosters, whose job it was to fertilize the eggs (for you city folks).
The farmer kept records and any rooster that didn’t perform went into the soup pot and was replaced. That took an awful lot of his time, so he bought a set of tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone so John could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report simply by listening to the bells.
The farmer’s favorite rooster was old Butch and a very fine specimen he was, too.
But on this particular morning John noticed old Butch’s bell hadn’t rung at all!
John went to investigate. The other roosters were chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing. The pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.
But to Farmer John’s amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn’t ring. He would sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.
John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.
The result … The judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize, but they also granted him the Pulletsurprise award as well.
Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making: Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren’t paying attention.
many talk about conservation, alternatives, and down sizing as a cure to our ongoing global devastation and pending shut down. Why is it I never hear anything about human overpopulation ? Face it world, we are the problem because there are too many of us.
what good does conserving or changing ways do when that doesn’t solve the core problem ? All that does is delay the inevitable.
Get real world, stop saving starving populations (sorry to say), and educate the world on the benefits of reducing human reproduction.
I dont understand? I bet in a year, al gore and oprah pollute more than my entire neighborhood does. I am conscience about the environment… Are they? Carbon credits? Hogwash. I give to the SPCA and WWF. Does that mean I can go out and club baby seals? Maybe I should. Total hipocrasy.
Don’t let them tell us how to live our life when they the biggest of offenders.
Oprah, Mr Gore, If you want to change the world, start with yourself.
I can make the piston engine use 1/5 the fuel that any fuel system now uses. That means any car could get 100+ mpg, not only less fuel but run on any liquid fuel. Fact is that piston engines need to have the fuel prepared. I have done it in a way that is so simple it could be on every car in a very short period of time. Help me get this simple information out there.
THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS AND HELP.
