Bush Welcomes Gore to White House

Interesting story unfolding here..
Today, Mr. Bush welcomed Vice-President & Nobel Prize winning Al Gore to the White House for a private conversation concerning global climate change.
Per Gore:
“It was a private conversation,” Gore said repeatedly to a throng of reporters, avoiding giving details. “Of course we talked about global warming, of course, the whole time.”
It’s nice to see the current administration opening their arms to what the country’s been voicing for so long. We can only say ‘thank you’ to Al for being our voice in this epic struggle.

I still have difficulty understanding why the economy is more important than the Earth.
Bush and every corporation need to set their priorities straight.

There’s a great new global warming awareness rock tune for Al Gore called “Mother Nature’s Nervous Breakdown” by The Subway Sun.

Dear Al Gore,
Most likely, you won’t have time to, or even want to read this. I’m a 10-year-old girl and I just read your book “An Inconvenient Truth”. I have a sibling in college who wants to get into environmental studies. In fact, she’s going abroad next semester. And I have a brother who is planning on being an engineer. They helped bring me up being aware and interested in this crisis. But the truth is, I had absolutely no idea that it was this important. Reading your book brought me to the realization that I can change the world. Recently a classmate told me that they did not believe in global warming. So the next day I showed them your book. I read a few pages that I found interesting and she left, speechless, for her next class. The following day, she came up to me with a piece of paper. Written on it, was a summary of the information that she had found when she researched it. When I flipped it over, I saw something else; “You were right. This is a true crisis. And I will do whatever it takes to help you spread this word.”
Don’t reply to this on e-mail, as this is not my real one.

Dear ExVP Al,
I am so greatful because of you, thanks for leading the discussion in this important topic, but we need to talk about solutions and actions.
What are the rialable remedies and actions humans have to take in this strugle for survivor in the mother nature?
What are the chipest and posible actions and remedies with out any constrains in the industrial and economic activities?
Do humans have enough resources for the above remedies?

This Global Warming Mr Gore speaks of is part of Earths evolution. I am curious of why Mr Gore has not (until recently) made this a priority when he was in Congress and as VP. He tends to gain lots of $$$ by pushing his agenda and hooking up with Silicon Valley along with trying to convice US government his way (or the highway) is best.
Oh by the way His Ecological foot print rivals that most 3rd world countries. My 2 cents

I watched your movie and I liked his initiative, however I think only explain and show the problem with its consequence, it’s not enough.
It is important that the people know how can healp the for diminish this problem. You need to worry with the government because I think that they are much responsable for this problem. This problem need of the public politics.

I am a graduate of Cook College’s Environmental Studies program and have known about global warming since the seventies. I feel the most effective way of dealing with the problem is to seed the oceans with genetically designed microfauna which could reverse the problem. The microfauna in effect could serve as medicine for the earth. For instance, a genetically programmed algae could be designed to absorb ten times more CO2 than normal algea do. I hope that this idea is given serious consideration. God bless and God speed!

Mr. Gore,
Congratulations on winning the Nobel Prize, although that was not your motivator in all the work you have been doing on global warming. I believe you have had an important role in bringing this issue out into the light of day.
Your work proves, like former president Jimmy Carter and his work in Habitat for Humanity and election monitoring, that one does not need the mantle of high office to make changes in the world. In fact, sometimes I think being a “civilian” can give you more freedom to pursue dreams for humanity.
Continue your work. You are respected and admired by many, and I believe you have motivated many people to look at how they live their own private lives in terms of the effect on the environment.

Al,
The South Pole gained 750,000 sqaure miles of icecaps this year. The North Pole has had a 1% loss and it’s not even winter yet! In Minnesota for the past week we have had bitter cold weather! Some days only reaching highs in the single digits. I’m thinking the earth’s icecaps are not going to melt in 7 years.

I am old man concerned about a planet for my grandchildren.
The electric car GM EV-1 and the Toyota RAV4-EV were a good start, but GM, Texaco, and Chevron killed it. Chevron now holds patent rights to the NIHM battery needed for this car.
It seems to me that the electric car could be a big help to stem global warming. Governments need to obtain the NIHM battery by what ever means necessary and get the electric car back on track—-Quickly. Hugh W Reeves

Sir, What a Hypocritical Lying a-hole. Your household power consumption being 10 times what mine is, your flying around in a personal jet and your energy wasting lifestyle indicates that you don’t believe your own line of BS. Lead by example. Make some effort the reduce your impact on the earth instead of demanding that every one else do so and you continue sqandering the earths resorces like some republican fat cat. Please go away and leave the enviormmental debate to serious people. KH

First off, John, well put. This scam is getting out of control!! I have read the list of things that contribute to global warming and it is ridiculious. There are things on the list that contradict each other. Now it has been reported that because we observed dark energy in outer space that we, humans, may have shortened the time of the universe??!! If you believe that then I’m sure you are willing to believe anything.

Dear Suzie,
I’m sorry to see that at such a tender young age, your parents allow you to be subjected to the most aggregious political propaganda of our time. Please ask your parents about the Kyoto treaty, and how many Senators, voted for it. Hint..it’s less than one.
Welcome to the world of intellectual dishonesty on the part of those who claim to have your interests in mind. They fly on their CO2 and CNO4 belching private jets plotting ways to frighten you into voting for them. That is, if your vote can’t be bought.
Reading is a wonderful thing, Suzie, BUT please learn to think for yourself, and draw your own conclusions.

First of all, I would like to say congratulations on winning the Nobel Peace Prize. I can’t think of anyone who deserves it more than you do. I feel passionately about global warming and try to do everything I can to help the environment. For those of you who don’t believe in global warming, I suggest that you look around. America has become a place of consumerism and waste. Cement paves areas that used to be beautiful prairies and forests. People don’t care about anything but how much they can buy and how fast they can get it. The fact that we are even debating whether we should drill into Alaska, one of the most beautiful, pristine wildernesses on God’s earth, is pathetic and disgusting. Even if you don’t think we are causing global warming, shouldn’t we do our best to take care of the earth?

It sounds more like a ‘convenient’ lie more than anything. Since most people believe everything some supposed scientist said then it must be true, for example evolution. Many people of this country worship at the altar of science and academia.

World population has nearly tripled since the 50s. Until we face this fact nothing much will change. We have to get certain religions etc to change their habits. Over population is what is destroying the world, changing light bulbs is just a feel good activity.
Wake up people to this fact!!!!!

Below is todays headline here. If I thought global warming was real, I would try to cause more of it. Unfortunately it is just hype.
Wind Chills Plummeting, May Reach Nearly 50 Below
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― It’s chilly out there this morning — but the National Weather Service says it will be even colder tomorrow.
The mercury is at 8 below zero in the Twin Cities this morning, with a wind chill at negative 24.

I agree with Jim. This planet does’nt just belong to us, it belons to every living creature. Mass extinction is at an all time high. The largest contributing factor being the human race. Due too urban sprawl, we have virtually pushed other creatures, animals and plants, out of their natural environment. And for what? So we can have the perfect vacation home in Florida. We need to learn to share this planet. The only way to accomplish this is through population control. In China you are only aloud two children. I believe the US needs to adopt this policy. I firmly believe birht control should be available to everyone at no charge, especialy in high schools. If condoms and birth control pills were readily avalilable in our schools, I guarantee there would be fewer unwanted pregnancy’s. Not to mention fewer abortions.
Of course thats a topic for a different blog. Global warming is a real threat. And at least Al Gore has the guts to speak out on the subject, which is more than I can say for most of us. Kudos to you Mr. Gore.
BTW - for all you ill informed, global warming can trigger an ice age.

We have changed most of the light bulbs in our house. Purchased an economical car to drive. These are all good things to do whether you believe in global warming or not. Why is it that science teachers are told they can’t teach global warming in the classroom?

Global Warming is the tip of an iceberg. The real problem is Survival of the Species. Not just global warming or nuclear war or an aseroid or even virial infections. If you write down the sina qua non of species survival, you end up thinking that none of the important things are being addressed. Thank you fou taking on one of them.
