Al, You are a well-meaning apocalyptic nutter that any self-respecting psychologist would diagnose as a paranoid schizophrenic dressed in sheep's clothing. The world is not coming to end by global flood due to our "sins" of burning fossil fuels any more than it did in the story of Noah or other Flood mythologies. You've sadly got your wires crossed between your mythos and your logos. That people believe this, is a testament to the power of this timeless story and a monument to scientific illiteracy in the world. Please do us all a favor and find another hobby.

Determined this was the hottest century in 650.000 years when thermometers were invented less than 300 years ago? Flabbergasting! This was at one point in the Antarctic, drilling five miles away would give a different reading but these "scientists" would make it similar. Was each segment supposedly representing a year assessed adding up to 650.000 times? Even if you overcame the thousands of logical problems. all you would have would be self created Antarctic temperatures telling you nothing of the temperature in New York Rio or Los Angeles 650.000 times.
The only people who could believe this garbage would be people who ewatch a hockey game and feel it to be an intellectual challenge.

A person cannot possibly believe that there are not going to be major changes on a planet when more than six billion humans live on its surface, of which a massive percentage is directly and indirectly responsible for spewing millions of tons of pollution into the atmosphere every day. Our natural world is long time not what it used to be. We are exerting enormous unnatural strains on a delicate environment that has evolved within certain bounds. It is only logical that the planet must start to react differently.

Climate change is a very real issue. The fact is that we are changing our world, and the argument should not be about whether the "world is cooling down or heating up" as many commentators have suggested. Al Gore has on many occassions said that the result of global heating is that the climate pattern in a certain area may be exaggerated, i.e a dry area's drought can worsen, and a naturally wet area may experience colder and wetter weather.

At least he is tackling an issue that many have been avoiding. Obviously he is encountering massive opposition, and a lot is said about someone who continues to fight for his belief system despite absolute persecution in public. Honestly - what does he have to gain by educating the world about climate changes except the satisfaction of doing something for the planet? It is not the most lucrative nor the most glamorous job, and with his talents he could have been earning a stack of money doing something else. Al Gore is doing what he believes is best, and we should respect and commend him for that. He is not a coward, and even (a big even) if his research is lacking at times (which I do not believe is the case), the fundamental issue that he is tackling is of absolute importance to our survival and that of our unique and exceptional planet, and just basic observation of the weather should be more than enough evidence. I live in South Africa where we a short while ago experienced 54 new weather records of minimum and maximum temperatures in the span of only two days - large amounts of the country was covered with snow and ice, in other parts rivers were bursting their banks and waterlogging the soil to such an extent that it seemed that the ground was intermittently lakes for as far as the eye could see. At the same time elsewhere wild fires were out of control. All this in a country renowned for its beautiful clear skies and consistently good weather.

Thus in my opinion the verdict is in - let us rather spend our time persecuting those who deserve it, and let Al Gore in peace so that he can in his own way do his bit for our planet. I am also of the opinion that Mr. Gore will be unable to defend himself against malicious rumours created in most part by the massive companies who rule this planet and profit from the pollution of the globe whose enterprises will deteriorate when humans become more informed and take a stand (perhaps the electricity company providing the "information" about his household's electricity consumption might be one of these??).

30 years ago, we were told we were entering another "ice age". Apparently we corrected that with our"global warming solution". We can't win. Either way.... either we freeze or we burn up. It's all a bunch of hogwash. God will not allow man to destroy the earth that He created.God will destroy it when He is ready. Nothing the ice age freaks or global warming freaks can say or do will change that.

Thank you.

Yesterday, the Weather Channel reported that there was 95 record lows set the previous night and more were reported last night. Al, it would be better if you directed all of your efforts to trying to cap the volcano on the island of Hawaii which has been spewing lava continuously for decades and warming the ocean. Also, the glaciers have been melting for centurys and we as lowly human beings will not be able to change it. The only one that can impact this great Earch is He who created it.
