Movie ‘Evan Almighty’ Uses Carbon Neutral Set
Cool news out of Hollywood. Universal Pictures has, reportedly, produced the first carbon neutral motion picutre in ‘Evan Almighty’ starring Steve Carell. Universal reports that Director Tom Shadyac and crew stricly counted carbon emissions, and offset them by planting trees during and after production of the film.
Additional green measures were taken during filming, which included using double-sided scripts to cut down on paper waste, relying on bikes for transportation, and recycling the majority of trash produced by the producton staff.

2 suggestions
1. How about “Truth or Propaganda” quiz show?
2. Televised documentaries on the historic reasons for “liberals” in news would also be nice.

Hello,
was saddened when Mr Gore did not win the 2000 race with George W. Bush.
Things would surely have been much different in the world today.
However, I am sorry to say that Al’s missing the boat completely on the man made global warming theory.
There is very little real evidence to support the fact that CO2 is definitely the climate driver, the computer models so promoted by the IPCC are hopelessly flawed and as far as I am concerned very unreliable.
Temperatures rise prior to CO2 increases in the atmosphere, not after. There is ample evidence for that.
I have been very environmentally conscious all my life, had long life low wattage bulbs before it was fashionable, recycled for years and years, but what is now being presented as “science”
and as “consensus among scientists” is not in line with the real truth.
There are huge number of scientists the world over that disagree with the current orthodoxy. And they are not all in the pockets of Big Oil and Gas or Big Tobacco as I read all the time on blogs from your supporters.
Even if they were, who else would support these people?
Certainly not the grant giving governments and institutions
that have a vested interest in the current “outcome” of IPCC reports. The political will to turn around 180 degrees is not yet there, it is popular to ride on your bandwagon, and votes are more important than the future of the economy or the state of the world.
Read Bjorn Lomborg’s book about the state of the world, maybe that will help. Needless to say that he is one of the most hated living souls in the eyes of the hardcore environmentalists, but the truth hurts apparently.
I rented your movie, was highly skeptical about it’s doom and gloom message and that it is all our fault. It isn’t Al, sorry to say. My reason for being a non-believer of the new dogma comes from the early 1970s when I wrote a paper in High school about the coming of a new Ice Age.
That was the great scare at that time. The scientists that came up with that, used the same data (up to 1973) as what is now used to produce that dreaded, hopelessly flawed hockey stick graph. What has suddenly changed so dramatically?
Ironically, Russian scientists recently came out with new reports on the next Ice Age, “starting as early as 2012″
I agree that air pollution is a big concern and that we must do something about that. Clean breathing air is a necessity and we have the technology to fix that, as we proved in the West in the 60s and 70s. (remember Pittsburgh’s foul air?)
But to blame climate change (the “yah sayers” don’t use “Global Warming” anymore, it’s now “Climate Change” that’s safer as it allows to go either way) on CO2 is a deception.
To say “the debate is over” is even a bigger problem, it would suggest that we know it all already.
Sorry Al, we don’t.
Kyoto is a danger to the world and my vote would only go to politicians that would overturn that absolute catastrophe
in the making.
Carbon Credits? Have you people lost your minds?
This is never going to work. It is obscene to think that one could buy off one’s moral obligations to buy carbon credits.
We probably would agree on any other topic Al, but on this
issue I think you could face a total embarrassment in a few years when the real facts about CO2 have finally found a way into the mainstream’s way of communicating with the public.
best regards,

Read Revelations 16:8 & 9 KJV in context. Is this the final result of global warming?
