Supporters Pushing Gore to Run
The AP is reporting that Gore’s top policy adviser from his 2000 presidential campaign - and other key supporters - met today in Boston to mull a potential Gore 2008 run. Those involved, though, along with the Gore’s Nashville office, stated that Al is in no way involved.

Dear Mr. Gore:
The best way to fight global warming is for cities and urban areas to plant trees and plants, especially on rooftops of government buildings, business and condominiums. Envionrmental laws need to be enforced on business. The hydrogen car needs to be targeted to the average consumer asap and not stay a toy for the rich. Business also needs to convert it’s interest to this model car and be given incentives to give up oil. As long as business keeps making money off oil alternative tech will remain the tool of the priveleged who can afford it. Cities should receive tax breaks for creating outdoor garden type parks, well lit and with security cameras to prevent them from being used as crime scenes. Big business needs tax incentives to emit less carbon dioxide and methane and be penalized severely until they do. There is no quick fix that’s going to give us %100 clean air and allow business to pollute which seems to be what everyone wants. Pollution can realisticly only be lowered but only when people have motivation to do so.

Greetings ,
As one of the people who have known about GW (global warming) for decades , I see the topic in 3 parts
1) Existence 2) Cause 3) Solution
Inconvenient Truth primarily addresses existence and cause (and in my case is preaching to the choir ) BUT fails to develop solution.
Unfortunately , I suspect the population change factor (& clearly demonstrated by his slide) is a bigger handicap than most realize.
Mr. Gore suggested than some nonbelievers go to believers and despair in one swift move. Actually, some of us who knew GW , have been fatalistic about this for many years.
If your campaign can focus on Solution (which , in reality will have to address population AND involve an unpleasant confrontation with the anti-birth control religions) . . . then perhaps , there is a chance. AND Good Luck on that one !
Sincerely
mary newton

As a native of Alaska I have seen glaciers breaking, drunken trees, and even the effects of beetles on the Sitka Spruce. After watching this documentary, I feel so terribly guilty. Never once have I been so encouraged to recycle or even plant a tree for that matter. Like you said, we sit and watch our world deteriorate before our eyes; yet we do nothing. It was definetely an eye opener to my husband and I. We ask that you consider running for the 2008 election, I turned 19 last year and have not yet hed the chance to vote for an election neither has my husband; but it would be a privelage to see your name on that ballot. Knowing that my first first vote was not only for the country, but for civilization itself.

Please run for president. You won in 2000, you can and will win again! We need your intelligence, honesty and experience. You can get us out of Iraq, the illegal war that it is, and get America back on the right track towards the great country it once was.

Dear Mr. Gore:
PLEASE run for president in 2008.
We are desperate need of a leader who has the intelligence, integrity, and tenacity to do what is right for us, and thus, for the world.
Our country continues to suffer from the lack of integrity amongst its highest elected officials…our standing in the international community has fallen accordingly. Many people believe that you are just the candidate who can help restore the U.S.’s proper place as a leader in the international community.
Many U.S. citizens recognize their responsibility of stewardship toward the earth as a whole. Many, like me, are willing to put their money where it is most helpful in that regard…we need cleaner, more environmentally friendly alternatives that are accessible to EVERYONE, not just the wealthy. You, Mr. Gore, are THE best suited for this position.
You have devoted your life to public service to the citizens of this country.
We trust you.
We need you.
PLEASE run for president in 2008.
(Any chance you could ask John Edwards to be your running mate???)

You may be right, you may be wrong but at least you have the courage of your convictions. I would rather have a courageous and compassionate leader who has an open mind and puts his brain in gear when he talks rather than a leader whose brain is always on idle and has no convictions and cannot see the light. You care and that is more than we can say about most of our leaders.

Dear Mr. Gore,
I agree with you. I think that you should not run for
the nomination; you have already proven you can win the popular
vote in a general Presidential election. But you should make it clear,
that if drafted, YOU WILL RUN. The Democratic field has many admirable
aspirants, but all have major flaws. When none can establish majority
support, please be ready - without alienating any - to be the consensus
proven leader our country - let alone our party REQUIRES. You owe at
least this much to the millions of Americans who elected you and had
to sit peacefully by while the current administration squandered the world’s good
will America built since the end of WW II and reversed the fiercely fought for financial
surpluses Clinton-Gore left with an immoral immature unconscionable and unjust
management of the country’s wealth!
Our country can not sustain itself if it has to endure another 8 years like
those since 2001. Of all possibiities in both parties, I believe you
have the best chance to knit a clear mandate and change direction of the
ship of state which is now rapidly heading on its present course towards rocks
and heart sickening disaster!
Yes, do not runl but please say you will be ready should your party
and country turn to you in their need. Ultimately, THEY WILL.
Sincere regards and best wishes,
Bernard Brenner

As a Canadian and an Environmentalist I would love to see a green American government, however, having the top job (President) would create barriers for what Mr. Gore is destined to do. Keep going as a shepherd, and you will have great success where it matters most. In Canada, David Suzuki is a great environmental shepherd, but if he were Prime Minister he would be a hobbled horse. Never give up. Change is going to come.

Dear Mr. Gore,
Its your Canadian neighbour again. I just wanted to add to my previous letter.
I have never in my whole life, seen so many people so deeply wanting a certain person to be presidant, as you! This is different, from any other election. Probably because you have made so many people believe in our danger, and also in you. This isn’t just any ordinary election, this is the big one, for a person, one person, who will really do something for us all. It isn’t an ordinary election, because there is so much more at stake than just the usual, and people trust you, and only you. Trust. Have you heard that word used much for leaders?
I haven’t. I haven’t felt it either, until now. And I know I’m not alone.
Thank you for all your efforts, they are so appreciated across the globe.
Please, you just have to run, we’re all holding our breath,
Sincerely,

Vice President Gore, I am sending you this e-mail to let you know I would vote for you because you have so much more to offer this country than anyone else. If not for the crooked dealings of Bush’s family legacy, you would have been our leader.
I AM A VOTER WHO WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOMEONE WITH YOUR KIND OF INSIGHTS CONTROLLING THIS GREAT COUNTRY! You sir are one of the few people who aren’t afraid to state his opinion even if its not popular.
Yes I believe you won in 2000 and the corrupt cronies in Washington put the fix in. We are slowly seeing all the evil that spilled over from that event. A Vice President involved indirectly in putting a secret agent in danger by allowing her name to be dropped in the media, a leader who ignored our people in this hurricaine in New Orleans, my heart breaks for the days and days he ignored my brothers and sisters dying as if in some third world country!
Sir, I know YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH REALITY-NOT PLAYING TIN SOLDIERS IN A DISTANT LAND.
So please take this plea for what its worth, I want you to be our next leader and put the people back in the President’s concerns, not to kill but to live.
I will vote for you if you run!

Al Gore for Green Party President 2008
Why don’t you post similar and drag Al Gore into the 2008 Presidency as the GREEN CANDIDATE?
Help me PLASTER THE WEB with this concept!!!
Please, if someone can get this to him, show this to (President) VP. Gore ASAP?
Since the Democrats are a shameful embarassment of a political party, Gore should run as Green zcandidate for 2008!
Dem’s suck because:
1. Voted yes to War & Patriot Act,
2. Didn’t force a cap on Record Oil Profits (btw –> price fluxes were not based on ‘free market’ supply demand but 100% market manipulation by corps),
3. Won’t even discuss Impeachment (why didn’t that happen to Pres. Clinton?),
4. NO CANDIDATE will stand by Kucinich’s HR333!!,
5. Poor investigation of Voter Fraud,
6. Didn’t slam Bush for Hurricane Katrina incompetence,
7. Allowing no-bid graft ‘donations’ to Halliburton,
8. Funding ongoing Iraq fiasco,
9. Didn’t nail Bush about lying to America about WMD’s, spilling an undercover agent’s name as political revenge, Gonzalez’ abuse of office, Scooter Libby’s scandal, Rove’s consistent violation of ethics standards,
10. and so much more… (I’m keeping this list short for legibility, not for lack of issues)
The Dems are basically GIVING AWAY EVERYTHING Americans fought for.
So why not have Gore run as the GREEN PARTY Presidential Candidate?
Reasons:
1. He could win (I think he would win)
2. He would force Democratic party to commit to some environmental platform (which he says is more important than him personally winning anything)
3. He would permanently help the Green party (and hopefully all American 3rd parties AND representative elections instead of ‘winner take all’)
4. The Dem’s betrayed him before
5. He could keep his ethics and be 100% anti-war, 100% anti-corporate ‘collusion’, & 100% pro-environment
I SAY GORE FOR GREEN PRESIDENT 2008!
He’d get my vote!
